Lauren Carpenito

Management Engineer, Duke University Health System

Originally from Littleton, Colorado, Lauren Carpenito graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a minor in Business in 2019. After graduation, Lauren began working as a Health System Engineer at Duke Health in the Performance Services department. In this role, she works with Duke to support 14 community hospitals to provide hospital senior leadership with support, encourage collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, facilitate projects, manage and maintain a monthly balanced scorecard, and support top executives to front line staff with education on proper data analysis and report generation. Lauren brings expertise in programming (SQL, Tableau, VBA, and advanced Microsoft excel), process improvement (Certified Six-Sigma Green Belt) and a passion for working through challenges. Outside of the office, she is currently pursuing her Masters of Healthcare Administration at UNC Chapel Hill and is the current chair for the Virginia Tech ISE Emerging Leaders Board (ELB). In her spare time, Lauren enjoys being outdoors, going to concerts, playing in an intramural adult kickball league, and traveling to new places!
