Dan Surber
As a Virginia Tech industrial and systems engineering 2010 graduate, Dan Surber started his post-college career at Deloitte Consulting focusing mostly on Federal client engagements. After 3.5 years, Dan switched to a much smaller commercial consulting firm, ADI Strategies, based out of San Francisco. Over the following two years, Dan created the Federal Consulting Practice at ADI and managed their newly established Federal book of business. In May of 2016, Dan founded the Washington, DC headquartered consulting firm, Alpine Consulting Partners, which focuses on both federal and commercial clients. In less than 3 years, Alpine has quickly grown into a firm of 10 practitioners, 80% of whom are Virginia Tech alumni and 60% of whom are Virginia Tech industrial and systems engineering alumni!! Aside from work, Dan co-founded the Virginia Tech Industrial and Systems Engineering Emerging Leaders Board (ELB) which helps young alumni across the nation stay engaged and involved with the ISE Department and he currently serves as the Chairperson of the ELB. In his spare time, Dan enjoys skiing, rock climbing, soccer, playing guitar, and going to concerts.
