Dan retired from the United States Air Force in 2003 after a 33-year career. He received his Air Force commission through the ROTC program at Virginia Tech in 1970. During his career he served as an F-4 and F-16 instructor pilot, commanded an operational F-16 fighter squadron, an F-16 fighter wing, the Air Force's largest composite wing, and a numbered Air Force. He is a command pilot with more than 3,600 fighter hours, including 155 combat hours and 51 missions over Iraq. Since joining L-3 Communications, Dan has helped build and oversee $4 billion in Air Force and joint opportunities with responsibility for all aspects of business development from opportunity identification, qualification, teaming strategies, and customer relations.
