Hometown: Aldie, Virginia

Minor: Business

Fun fact about yourself: I have been to 4 Hawaiian islands!

If you participated in an internship, what company was it for and what were your job responsibilities?

After my Sophomore year (Summer 2019), I worked for MITRE as a Systems Engineering intern. In this role I worked on projects for multiple government agencies utilizing data analytics, Model Based Systems Engineering, and process improvement methodologies.

This past summer (Summer 2020) I worked for Ernst and Young as a Risk Advisory intern. I worked on testing IT Application Controls for a client to verify SOX compliance and ensure users/employees had correct access to applications and company information.

Which faculty member has made the biggest impact in your undergraduate education and how?

Dr. Cherbaka has made the biggest impact in my undergraduate education. I have had her as a teacher for four of my ISE courses. She is extremely helpful in making sure her students succeed and is very knowledgeable in ISE applications.

Aside from your classmates, what has been the best part of being an industrial and systems engineering major at Virginia Tech?

The best part of being a VT ISE is the community. I have made so many amazing friends within ISE that have made my experience in and out of the classroom great. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and determined. Everyone motivates and uplifts the each other which fosters a great learning environment.

What club or activity excites you most at Virginia Tech and why?

I've loved being a part of Greek life in my time at Tech. My involvement in my sorority gave me the ability to hold multiple leadership positions, give back to the greater Blacksburg community, and meet women who uplift and empower me.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your student career so far?

My biggest accomplishment as a student thus far has been becoming the Recruitment Committee Head for the ISE Ambassadors. I chose ISE as a Freshman after attending the Info Session and now in this role, I am able to organize and run the same event and many more. I love talking about ISE and sharing my love for the major so I was really excited when I received this position that allowed me to share that with interested students.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I will be working full time at Deloitte as a Technology Analyst in their Arlington, Virginia office.
