Sally Calloway, Kaitlyn Tokarz, Navya Vemulapalli, and Brendon O'Brien (left to right) participated at the Open House of the Carilion Clinic Center for Simulation, Research and Patient Safety. They showcased our research on developing an intelligent virtual coach for self-training manual skills of laparoscopy. The research is supported by the integrated Translational Health Research Institute of Virginia (iTHRIV).

2015 ISE Undergraduate Research Symposium

Chester Wang presented his work trying out eye-tracking glasses for measuring human performance in control room settings.

Chester presented his eye-tracker work at the 2015 ISE Undergraduate Research Symposium. He is graduating this Spring and moving to San Jose State University for a Masters Degree specialized in human factors. Kudos!

Matt Demas presented the preliminary findings of the full-scope simulator experiment.

Matt Demas and Nathan Lau presented their research at the NPIC & HMIT 2015 conference. Matt did a fantastic presentation on the preliminary results of experiment in 2014 using the GSE Generic Pressurized Water Reactor and recently retired licensed operators.

Paper to be posted once the American Nuclear Society officially publishes our conference articles.

Chester Wang has been testing the SMI eye-tracker glasses for future VACSE research. He has been looking into the plug-in indicating cognitive load (graph embedded at the bottom of the video). Take a look at the videos below.
