(May 1, 2017) ISE’s Graduate Program Coordinator Hannah Parks won the election this spring to continue on the Commission on Graduate Studies & Policy (CGS&P) as a Staff Senator. She will serve on CGS&P for another three years, after serving for the 2016-2017 academic year to fill the remainder of the term for a senator who retired.
Staff Senate gets representation on all university commissions and committees within governance. It is a Staff Senator’s duty to bring any governance issues from that commission that relate to staff at Virginia Tech back to the senate. Staff Senators are also tasked with reporting back to their constituents on governance issues that pertain to staff. Hannah represents staff in the College of Engineering and is a voting member on the CGS&P.
Hannah has plenty of experience for this CGS&P position: she has been a Staff Senator for a total of seven years and has been in CGS&P for four years.
