(April 7, 2016)  ISE graduate student Kristine “Krissy” Cantin have been selected to receive a prestigious and highly-competitive National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Fellowship this year. According to the NSF GRFP website, she was one of eight fellowship recipients at Virginia Tech, and one of 2000 awardees among approximately 17,000 applicants of the GRFP in 2016.

Krissy has been a Ph.D. student in ISE since the Fall of 2014 with advisor Dr. Maury Nussbaum. Her research interests include: behavioral monitoring, disabilities and progression, gait and measures of variability, data analytics and machine learning (specifically as applied to physical disabilities), and rehabilitation.
