Prospective Employers

It is a very broad major, allowing students many opportunities for the future upon completion of the degree here at Virginia Tech. - Ashley Pearson, ISE student

It has been said that BSIE graduates from accredited departments of industrial engineering have roughly the same core knowledge and skills, so what sets Hokies apart from the rest? You'll find our students have an extremely high regard for professionalism and ethics. Their communication skills have been honed and polished. Their teamwork and leadership skills have been refined. They represent what most employers seek - technically competent engineers with the depth and breadth of industrial engineering skill, the integrative and project management skills of systems engineering with the added bonus of managerial and leadership potential. Our graduate students are true specialists at the masters level and at the Ph.D. level, have balanced the breadth of ISE with the depth of a particular domain for a fruitful and passionate career.
