(May 16, 2017) Two undergraduate students from ISE, Jose Anhalzer and Kevin Davenport, were awarded a scholarship from the Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (MHEFI) for the 2017-18 academic year.
Jose Anhalzer was selected to receive the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association Honor Scholarship for his high academic performance. He is a senior in ISE, and will have an internship with Pepsico at the Gatorade facility at Wytheville, VA this summer.
Kevin Davenport, a rising junior in ISE, was selected to receive the Howard Bernstein Scholarship sponsored by six organizations via MHEFI. He has been a mentor and upper-class leader for Galileo (a living learning community for engineering males). He also served as a member of the finance committee for IISE and the fundraising committee for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). This summer, he will be an intern for U.S. Smokeless Tobacco (a part of the Altria group) in Nashville, TN, working on logistics problems in the shipping and receiving department.
